What is your favourite Christmas movie or TV special?
I’m not sure if this is considered a classic Christmas movie (it is now!), but I’ve always loved Home Alone. It brings back memories of watching it with my family as a kid and who can resist that heart-tugging scene when Kevin hugs his mom at the end? Ah, I’m getting teary-eyed just thinking about it.

Does your family have a special or quirky Christmas tradition?
In my family, Santa Claus is the one who gives practical presents. One year, he gave me a heavy duty rechargeable flashlight when all the other little girls received Barbies. I thought it was pretty cool.

Which do you prefer: to give or receive?
Why not both? Especially if the gift is food. Then we can share. Yummmmmmmm.

Which Peanuts character do you think your friends and family would say reminds them of you?
I’d like to think I’m lovable like Charlie. But I’d bet my mom (and husband?) thinks I’m more of a bossy Lucy.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Not a Chance – or – The Uglier the Better?
The uglier the better! Nothing gets you into the spirit quite like a bright purple acrylic sweater featuring Rudolph’s face with a red pom pom nose. (This is something I may, or may not, actually own)

What do you want Santa to bring you this year?
I’d love an all-inclusive trip somewhere warm. A new rechargeable flashlight would be nice too. My old one broke, Santa.

What is your favourite Christmas movie or TV special?

It definitely has to be ‘A Christmas Story’.  Haven’t we all experienced a ‘Ralphie moment’ where we’re all bundled up to head outside in the cold… only to realize we really have to pee?  Or maybe I’m alone in that…

Does your family have a special or quirky Christmas tradition?
My mom used to make Tourtière, a delicious French-Canadian meat pie.  We also used to open our presents one at a time with up to 15 people in the house. Needless to say the first time it took over ten hours to get them all opened, that tradition was quickly and emphatically voted down.

Which do you prefer: to give or receive?
I feel as though I SHOULD say ‘give’, but really, who doesn’t like ripping into a gift?!  However, seeing the look on someone else’s face when they open that perfect gift from you is pretty special. Can we call it a tie?

Which Peanuts character do you think your friends and family would say reminds them of you?
Definitely Linus, minus the need for a security blanket.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Not a Chance – or – The Uglier the Better?
I’m all about the ugly. The inclusion of blinking Christmas lights on the sweater earns bonus points.

What do you want Santa to bring you this year?
With 15-month old twins, an extra set of hands and three-day weekends would be pretty great. But, since neither of those is overly realistic, just the continued health and happiness of my family and friends.

What is your favourite Christmas movie or TV special?

My all time favorite Christmas movie is “A Christmas Story”.

Does your family have a special or quirky Christmas tradition?
On Christmas Eve we always have Macaroni and cheese. I don’t know why.

Which do you prefer: to give or receive?

OMG of course it’s giving! Is there anything more exciting than watching a child open a gift?

Which Peanuts character do you think your friends and family would say reminds them of you?
Snoopy. It doesn’t take much for me to break out into a ‘happy dance’.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Not a Chance – or – The Uglier the Better?
I prefer a lampshade.

What do you want Santa to bring you this year?
Hello? Go back to question #1.  I’m still dreaming of a Red Ryder BB rifle.

What is your favourite Christmas movie or TV special?
I’m not a repeat-movie viewer, but I do love escaping to the theatre at Christmas time to catch the latest release. Wishing there was another Lord of the Rings movie this year!

Does your family have a special or quirky Christmas tradition?
I love the Messiah. LOOOVE the Messiah. If my mom’s in town, we geek out and go to a sing-along-Messiah with our tattered scores. If not, I blast Handel as loud as my family lets me, all Christmas morning.

Which do you prefer: to give or receive?
Give, give, give!

Which Peanuts character do you think your friends and family would say reminds them of you?
Oooooh, I think I’d be a female-Charlie Brown – piano-playing, Beethoven loving, friend to animals… that’s my style.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters: Not a Chance – or – The Uglier the Better?
Hahaha. My husband takes care of this department for me. (He knows which one I’m talking about)

What do you want Santa to bring you this year?
A mild winter! (Sorry, skiers!) There’s nothing I dislike more than a bone-chilling winter’s day. If perhaps, we could stay close to zero this year, I’d be eternally grateful.

Peanutize Me This Christmas!

Whether it was the comic strip or TV specials, you’d have to be a blockhead not to love the Peanuts. When we heard the gang would be together again for The Peanuts Movie this November, we immediately started counting the days!

Thankfully we have the highly addictive Peanutize Me app to help pass the time. By selecting from dozens of hairstyles, outfits, and smile sizes, Peanuts fans can create a free personalized Peanuts avatar – as if Charles Schulz drew it himself!

In honour of The Peanuts Movie, we decided to “Peanutize” some of our favourite Christmas movie characters. We hope you enjoy the results as much as we do!

Clark Griswold – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Peanutize me griswold
The “Peanutize Me” app doesn’t quite capture the crazed look of Clark Griswold, but pretty close!

Mary Bailey – It’s a Wonderful Life

Peanutize Me Mary Bailey
Did you know It’s a Wonderful Life came out when they still made wooden Christmas trees?

Ralphie Parker – A Christmas Story

Peanutize Me Ralphie
Good grief! Ralphie really wants that Red Ryder B.B. gun this Christmas.

The Grinch – How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Peanutize Me Grinch
The Grinch is one of the only Grinches who can take a wonderful season like Christmas and turn it into a problem.

Susan Walker – Miracle on 34th Street

Peanutize Me Mara Wilson
If Lucy van Pelt is the Christmas Queen, then Susan Walker is the Christmas princess!

Kevin McCallister – Home Alone

Peanutize Me Home Alone
Of all the McCallister’s in the world, Kevin is the Charlie Browniest.
